Orlando (Jan 2010)

Went to Orlando for 10 days from Jan 11-21. It was really cold when we first reached Orlando as it had just snowed 2 days ago. Still, the weather was better than Boston. One of the first thing that struck me was the the trees in Orlando had leaves! It's been 2 months since i've seen trees with leaves. We bought a 6 days pass for the Walt Disney World. At the end of the trip, the adults were a little overdosed with disney while the kids wanted to go back again... err.. i think we won't be visiting disney again in the near future. But everytime the kids talk about going back, we said "Okay we will go again next time.." haha..

Took many pictures and it's impossible to upload all, here's some of them taken at the various parks.

1. Animal Kingdom - This is the park we enjoyed the most and we went back for a 2nd day.
There is a safari like ride where you can get close to the animals. There is also an animal patting area where the kids like. The Finding Nemo musical is really really good!

Here's a video of the kids at the patting area. To our surprise, Amber's not afraid of the goats and sheeps. She just ran around touching and patting the animals without fear.

2. Disney Hollywood Studios - This is the smallest park of all and it was really crowded the day we went. Didn't take a lot of pictures here as we were in the shows/rides most of the time. Oh yah, i tried the Tower of Terror here and had the fright of my life!

3. Epcot - The most enjoyable attractions for the kids was the Nemo ride with the big aquarium where there were sharks, turtles, dolphins. Nice big park to walk around.

4. Magic Kingdom - This is the first theme park and the last that we went. There were many rides for the kids so we decided to go again on our last day. I think i've sat the dumbo ride twice, the aladdin magic carpet twice and the carousel 3 times!

Here's a consolidated video of the kids meeting mickey and his pals.
Aedan meeting Peter Pan while Amber was sleeping. Apparently this Peter Pan hasn't flown over South East Asia before.
5. Kennedy Space Center - We went to Kennedy Space Center in between our trips to the disney theme parks. It's about 45 mins drive from Orlando. This is where the space shuttle takes off for the space missions, including the famous Apollo missions.

6. Orange Picking - We also took one day off the theme parks and went orange picking. We picked a 1/2 bushel bag and a 5lbs bag of oranges/grapefruit. We gave some away to our friends and lugged the rest back to Boston. The kids also enjoyed chasing the ducks and chickens.
